About Last-Page

No... I am not shutting down my music web page, but the destruction of my great grandmother's home in 2004 by Northern Pipeline Construction Company had forced me to change focus away from song creation to fighting the legal battle to save my heritage.

I did this first with an attorney until 2007 but they quit then filed a lien on the suit. For the next two years I pursued the suit without a lawyer (Pro Se) until I ran out of resources  to continue the case.

So wish me luck as I try to find a way. Remember many out there have it worse than me so pay it forward for those close to you first, then those who have great need second.   As always... Please share this page with your friends.

Recap - For those of you not familiar with the house I live in, it is a 3 bedroom 2 bath Prairie tract home built by Charles Page in 1921 on the foundation of a smaller cabin and smoke house. When he first built it the land was not platted and it's first year served as the meeting house for the "Sand Springs Gentleman's Club" (Think Kiwanis, not strippers) before being bought by my Great grand parents.  It has had two addresses (1206, 1212 and sometimes the mail came simply addressed to "City") and for 88 years the house has witnessed births, deaths, many many Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, marriages, divorces, college and high school graduations, three generations of children going off to war and serving their country and hundreds of gatherings, some for no reason at all.

- Since shutting down the suit  have moved nearly a thousand buckets of dirt and 2900 lbs of concrete hand carried through the crawl space of my great grandmothers house (mostly on my knees) and the foundation is now secure (not restored) from the damage done by Northern Pipeline Construction Company - I wish I could have just lifted the house but the cost was prohibitive.

Here are a few pictures from the history of he house and my family...  From left to right this is West Texas just after the civil war (about 1867) and my 4x great grandfather and a bunch other Vets are building the road near Mason Texas; Next is great grandma Bettie and great grampa on the steps of the house in 1922; Next is grandpa and grandma (newlyweds); On the right is my Mom in living room about 1943.

Water running through foundation out plumbing service access, Front porch water receding to about 6"deep,  4 hours later the water has receded and you can see how it has carved out around the porch.

I am going to keep this home page geared towards keeping everyone up to date on my progress, or lack of with the house. You can still reach the lyrics and some of the songs at www.last-page.com/music.htm

Prior Projects - 1926 Mansion

I did the preliminary studies for this restoration. The builder did a great job turning ideas into reality.

This was a formal Verenda (two sides enclosed) with a fountain that was crumbling and a garage with apartments over the garage that served as the maid's quarter in the 30's. The roof was flat and was always leaking. The square garage extension with its moldy rooms added nothing to this graceful Mediterranean style mansion built in 1926. So we changed the whole space.

First the roofline was raised in sketches and a pitch was added to compliment the existing Mediterranean tile roof of the main house.  This allowed enough space to create a enclosed with a two story sunroom /den.

All this new  space opened the old maid's quarters up replacing the windows with  french doors to a balcony turning the small bedrooms in to very nice guest rooms.  A spiral staircase was added giving the guest rooms two ways to access them from the sun room
