Scottsman's Bluff
Scotsman's Bluff    Copyright ©2003,  Patrick Holley
Sometimes you love someone and it's unconditional and undemanding. When they hurt, you hurt. When they laugh, you laugh. When you find time to share you forget the times that you are apart. It's Magic.  How does such a Love come into being? God only knows.

Scottsman’s Bluff

Taken by a smile, only for a moment

Walking for a while, outside this moment

I can be far away

I can be here today

I’ll be all I am

Sitting easy, In my own mind.

I’ve been Listening, to what I find.

I know it can’t be right

When its my heart I fight

When I find myself - wrong

Chorus

Running away, from my self

Catching the pain along the way

I can be any one at all

I can be any one at all

I can be any one at all

Just as long as it’s me

Mixed in the water, lost in the sea

Scottsmans the tonic, Glenfiddich used to be

Why is he walking away

From the words that she will say

How can he leave, what they could share

I found some pieces, scattered on the floor

Placed in my pocket, I looked around for more

I know they don’t belong to me

I’ll hold them till they go free

Close to the heart

Will keep them warm

<chorus>

Pain is a wall, that can’t be taken down

Somehow I see through it, make a smile from the frown

Someday it might be real

The laughter she will begin to feel

The warmth will come back inside.

I hope that my words, show that I care

Scottsman's bluff is empty, a childless lovers dare

Life is for living

Love is for giving

Your soul back to you

<chorus>

Let me help you turn, nightmares into dreams

I’ll help remove the bindings, you tear apart the seams

You can be who you are

Don’t have to travel very far

The road inside yourself

What I give, is something I found

Laying in pieces, scattered round

It’s more than I’ll ever need

Every part is a seed

Growing near my heart

<chorus>
