Shannon's Road is the path we travel between friendship and obscurity.
The song is the classic story of two different people who have an affinity for each other but the lives of each are on a different path. The difficulty of making the connection between both of them creates an obstacle almost large enough to prevent them from actually getting to know each other. Worse than a Greek tragedy because in Shannon's Road there is no hero, only the opportunity to act heroically by taking a leap of faith. | |
| Shannon’s road
I’ve been down this road so many times beginning to doubt it That its going to lead me to where I want to be And if you asked if I wanted a way back now You should able to see that I’m there We can all talk about being there when words are free We can all talk about being there
I can’t wait for, the day to come when you call me I find it too easy to walk away Is it time for me to go now while your hiding Hoping I’ll just turn around We can all talk about being there when words are free We can all talk about being there
It was so easy just to close my eyes forget what I see Looking at life within a hope Going around this dream I need when I pass you I got lost down Shannon’s road We can all talk about being there when words are free We can all talk about being there
So you tell me I ‘m dreaming when I see you Why can’t this vision be real All the words made for talking when they’re spoken Tell you nothing of how I feel We can all talk about being there when words are free We can all talk about being there
Repeat first Verse
