Shannon's Road

I originally recorded Shannon's Road playing my Peavy Briarwood using a single condenser microphone hooked up to a Sound Blaster Live card in an Athlon based computer running Windows XP Pro in the house my great grandparents had lived in and has been in the family since 1924. Not a clean mix nor the best way to do it but it gave me a good reference recording

What a mouthful.

I had written the song in parts and never sang it through till I recorded it.  What amazed me was when I finished singing was the song was 6 minutes and 43 seconds long.  Strange...it really didn't seem that long while singing it and it still doesn't seem that long listening to it...

I played it for several friends and a bunch of strangers and so far everyone seems to like it and wants me to do a studio quality recording of it. I also passed a Creative Lab's Muvo around a bar with some napkins to vote on whether they liked it, needs work or if it sucked. Picking up the napkins later the song got all " I like it" votes and also some phone numbers from a couple of different  girls at the bar. Sorry ladies, I respect the offers but I think maybe you had a little too much to drink at the time. Maybe later if we meet again without the liquor we can try again. Did I keep the numbers? No, I respect peoples privacy too much to be a strange voice on the phone that they can't remember the next day.
